I am herbal tea obsessed! I love tea for the variety, the flavours but most of all for all the hidden benefits these tasty little leaves can give you. I went through a stage of feeling a little bit on the sluggish side so starting working the South African grown Rooibos tea into my morning routine. It's caffeine free, stress relieveing, cancer and diabetes preventing, rich in zinc, calcium, potassium, manganese and magnesium, as well as polyphenols which are anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anti-mutagenic.The difference in the way I feel (and look) is amazing! Check out the benefits I've felt from this natural immunity boosting, anti-inflammatory and detoxing delight.
Antioxidants to Ante-age you
I've had trouble sleeping lately and my skin has suffered to keep it's usual balance without it's usual 7-8 hours of shut eye a night. Since drinking Rooibos my skin's started to come back to life and this is due to it containing double the amount of antioxidants than your regular green tea. These antioxidants combat the harmful oxidation that's linked to cellular ageing leading to supple, gorgeous skin.
I'm no stranger to injuries and sometimes my effected joints feel a little inflamed and inflexible. Rooibos is rich in calcium, magnesium and the phytonutrients - orientin and luteolin - which are responsible for activating genes that help to develop new bone. The difference in my joint health as been incredible!
Being Coeliac, everything happens in my tummy so if I feel slightly unwell or overtired or stressed - I bloat. Due to the anti-inflammatory polyphenols and kidney cleansing qualities found in Rooibos my tummy has been completely settled! If you can get your hands on some green Rooibos tea then it's even better for this due to it's higher level of phytonutrients (plant based substance beneficial to health and the prevention of various diseases).
Starting the day with this tasty tea has definitely made me look leaner and meaner through my abs and thighs and I feel it too! While this is linked to the reduction in bloating it's also because the phytonutrients in rooibos communicate with your fat cells and send signals through your molecules that make your body less likely to store fat. Win!
So get sipping today! xx
